    Description: The Federal Trade Commission reports that nearly 9 million Americans have their identities stolen every year. Don’t be one of these statistics. Learn how you can better protect your information and ultimately, your identity.

    Participants will learn:
    -Ways to be smart shoppers, whether buying at thrift stores, shopping for a car, household items, or groceries

    -How to avoid common consumer scams such as ID
    Theft, Work at Home scams, Credit Repair scams and more!

    Mrs. Rogan is the Financial Education Consultant with the Maryland CASH Campaign. She has nineteen years of experience as an Investigator and Communications Manager with the Montgomery County Office of Consumer Protection. She is an active member of the Coalition for the Advancement of Financial Education in Montgomery County, Maryland.

    Bank on Gaithersburg offers a pathway to bank account ownership. A campaign of the City of Gaithersburg, this program has partnered with local banks and credit unions to offer residents free and low-cost options for checking and savings accounts and to help individuals: stay on budget, successfully manage bank accounts, improve credit rating, and pay off debt. Additionally, Bank on Gaithersburg works with financial professionals to deliver free and unbiased financial education.
